Wir werden hier gelehrt, dass so wie das Waschbecken als Vorbereitung für den Dienst an Hashem unerlässlich ist, so ist auch (und sogar noch grundlegender) die Institution der Ehe und der Zeugung von Kindern und deren Erziehung bis zum Erwachsenenalter eine äußerst wichtige Vorbereitung für Hashems Dienst. Tatsächlich sind die Ehe und die Kinder an sich die wichtigsten Formen des Dienstes für Hashem.

«And he made the laver of copper and its foot of copper from the mirrors of (the women)» (Shemos 38:8).
We are taught here that just as the laver is essential as preparation for the service of Hashem, so also (and even more fundamentally) is the institution of marriage and of begetting children and rearing them to adulthood a most essential preparation for Hashem’s service. Actually, marriage and children are in themselves the major forms of service to Hashem.
