Das Konzept der Teshuva lässt sich leichter anhand eines Beispiels erklären. Stellen Sie sich vor, es gibt einen Gerichtsprozess wegen eines Banküberfalls.
Alles ist bewiesen, es gab Zeugen, alles. Der Richter fragt diesen Mann: «Was haben Sie zu sagen?» Er sagt: «Es tut mir so leid, ich weiß nicht, was mit mir passiert ist, und ich verspreche, dass ich es nie wieder tun werde.» Der Richter kichert vielleicht und sagt: «Weißt du was, statt 20 Jahren bekommst du 18 Jahre für deine paar Tränen.»
Aber in einem Gericht von Hakodesh Baruch Hu ist alles anders. Sobald ein Jude oder eine Jüdin sagt: «Ich will nach Hause kommen!» Der Vater, unser König, unser Richter, beginnt zu tanzen und sagt: «Du willst nach Hause kommen? Ich habe so, so lange auf dich gewartet! Und dieses Geld, das du gestohlen hast – behalte es und wir werden dir mehr geben.»
Wenn ein Mensch keine Teshuva macht, muss er absolut nicht normal sein.

The concept of Teshuva is easier to explain by example. Just imagine, there is a court proceedings over the bank robbery.
Everything is proven, there were witnesses, everything. The judge is asking this guy: «What do you have to say?» He says: «I’m so sorry, I don’t know what happened to me and I promise I’m never going to do it again.» So the judge may giggle and he would say: «You know what, instead of 20 years, you’re going to get 18 years for your few tears.»
But in a court of Hakodesh Baruch Hu, everything is different. As soon as a Jew or a Jewess says: «I want to come home!» The father, our king, our judge, starts dancing and says: «You want to come home? I’ve been waiting for you so, so long! And this money that you stole- keep it and we’re going to give you more.»
So for a person not to do Teshuva, you have to be absolutely not normal.
