EinNicht-Jude und Pessach – Geschichte aus der Zeit des Zweiten Tempels
Baruch HaShem, Schalom Aleichem, Freunde!
Die Gemara, Pesachim 3b erzählt uns eine Geschichte über einen Nicht-Juden, der jedes Jahr nach Jeruschalajim reiste und sich als Jude ausgab und von einem Stück des Opfers aß, was verboten ist. Und einmal prahlte er vor Rabbi Yehuda Ben Beseira und sagte, er esse tatsächlich vom Besten des Besten. Und Rabbi Yehuda Ben Beseira fragte ihn: «Aber haben sie dir den Fettschwanz gegeben?» «Nein.» «Okay, also betrügen sie dich.»
Als dieser Nicht-Jude das nächste Mal nach Jeruschalajim kam, verlangte er den Fettchwanz. Die Leute sagten ihm: » Niemand isst den Fettchwanz. Er kommt auf den Altar.» Sie fragen: «Wer hat dir das mit dem Fettchwanz erzählt?» Er sagte: «Rabbi Yehuda Ben Beseira.»
Also stellten sie eine Untersuchung an und fanden heraus, dass er ein Nicht-Jude war, und kümmerten sich um ihn. Und sie schickten eine Nachricht an Rabbi Yehuda Ben Beseira. Sie sagten: «Rabbi, obwohl du sehr weit vom Tempel entfernt bist, reichen deine Netze doch bis hierher.»
Liebe Freunde, lasst uns nicht eifersüchtig auf den Anteil eines anderen sein.

Non-Jew and Pesach-Story from the times of Second Temple

Gemara, Pesachim 3b tells us a story about one non-Jew who traveled every year to Yerushalayim and masquerading himself as a Jew and eating from a piece of sacrifice, which is forbidden. And once he boasted to Rabbi Yehuda Ben Beseira, said that he is actually eating from the best of the best. And Rabbi Yehuda Ben Beseira asked him: «But did they give you the fat tail?» «No.» «Okay, so they’re cheating you.»
So next time when this non-Jew came to Yerushalayim, he demanded the fat tail. Then people tell him: «Nobody eats fat tail. It goes to the altar.» They say: «Who told you about fat tail?» He said: «Rabbi Yehuda Ben Beseira.»
So they did an investigation and found out that he was a non-Jew and they took care of him. And they sent a message to Rabbi Yehuda Ben Beseira. They said: «Rabbi, even though you’re very far away from the Temple, but your nets actually reaching here.»
Dear friends, let us not be jealous with somebody else’s portion.
Let’s be happy with whom we are.
